Implications for Adopters

The BSD 3-Clause license is a permissive open-source license:

  • The software may be forked, modified, and deployed for any city or organization, including commercial and government contexts.
  • The original copyright notice and license text must be included in any redistribution of the source code or binaries.
  • The University of Washington's name may not be used to endorse or promote derived products without written permission.
  • Contributing improvements back to the project via pull request is encouraged but not required.
